私はいつものように夢の中で音を聴いていました。

そこには白人で金髪の4~50代くらいの男性の研究者がいて、

多重録音で古代の歌を復元しようとしています。

しかし歌詞の一部がどうしても理解できず、悩んでいるようです。

そこへ日本人の白髪の老学者が現れました。

彼は相談を受けると楽譜や歌詞を訂正し、

身振り手振りを交えて続きを説明します。

そして櫂を漕ぐ仕草をしながらこう唱えました。

「船のともろにりっここく、りっここく」

流れている音楽にはドラムやベースやキーボードの音が入っていて、

歌は複数の優しい中年女性が琉球のような雰囲気や舞とともに歌っているイメージでした。

遥か古代の航海の旅で船の人々が息を合わせるとき、

陸にいる人々が彼らの無事を祈るとき、

そしてそれらを鳥瞰している視点がこの曲のなかで交差しています 。

わたしたちの遠いご先祖様が送ってきたものか、別パラレル世界の存在達からの曲なのかはわかりません。

この曲より以前に「いのちみちますように」という歌も受け取りました。

また、「天孫降臨」「饒速日」に関わる歌の断片も同時期に現れています。

それらはどうやらひとつの流れの中にある歌たちのようです。

はるかな記憶の海から浮上してくる、連続した物語。

A song returned in a dream, awakening the memory of the sea and the spirit of our ancestors. Revived through the voices of those who once sang in prayer and the seekers who brought it back to life,

“Fune no Tomoro ni Rikkokoku” now returns beyond time.

I was listening in a dream, as usual. A blond, middle-aged Western researcher was attempting a multitrack reconstruction of an ancient song but could not decipher a portion of the lyric. An elderly Japanese scholar arrived, corrected the notation and text, and, illustrating with rowing motions, spoke the missing phrase:

“Fune no Tomoro ni Rikkokoku, Rikkokoku.”

(Phonetic refrain; perceived as a rowing chant.)

The soundscape included drums, bass, and keyboards. Several gentle, middle-aged women sang with a Ryukyuan inflection, their voices entwined with dance. Within the music, perspectives overlap: sailors coordinating breath on a long-ago voyage; those on shore praying for their safety; and a distant vantage that contains them both.

I do not know whether this came from our remote ancestors or from beings in a parallel world. Before this, I received “Inochi Michimasu Yōni” (“May Your Life Be Fulfiilled”), and around the same time, fragments related to Tenson Kōrin (the Descent of the Heavenly Grandson) and Nigi Hayahi (a deity associated with heavenly descent). They appear to belong to a single continuum—a narrative rising from the sea of memory.

The artwork for this piece is by Jun Hirota. Song and image seem to resonate toward a common center. During offerings and performances, some listeners recall ancient memories or are moved to tears, and they sometimes share their insights. Perhaps the next to add voice, movement, and dance—will be you.

Fune no Tomoro ni Rikkokoku — romanized exactly as heard; a phonetic refrain that emerged in the dream, presented here as an ancient boat-rowing chant. Its precise historical meaning is unspecified.

Inochi Michimasu Yōni — 「いのちみちますように May Your Life Be Fulfiilled」＝ “May Life Be Filled to Overflowing.”
